Who We Are

Recycle IT is an ecology & environment focused club created by students in Suzhou, China.

Our goal is to traverse all major water bodies in Suzhou and contribute to the protection of the local ecological environment!

What Do We Do

Record Ecological Species

We conduct field investigation across Suzhou’s water bodies, documenting the biological species to establish and maintain a map of ecological species distribution. Based on the collected data, we report invasive and harmful species to relevant authorities.

Waterbody Waste Collection

We traverse Suzhou’s waterways, clearing trash from their banks to safeguard the health of our local waters. During holidays when we have the chance to travel to other cities, we also take the opportunity to clean up trash along the banks of those distant waterways.

Ecological Knowledge Popularization

We apply our knowledge and practical data to conduct occasional science popularization sessions for local communities in Suzhou. We encourage more community members to join the activities of local ecological & environmental protection.

Technological Innovation & Creation

Based on our team members’ interests and hobbies, we apply our scientific knowledge to innovate and create tools that address everyday ecological and environmental challenges. We recycle materials to invent new products.

Suzhou Waterbody Plant Species Map

RecycleIT club members conducted fieldwork to collect biological data from major waterbodies in Suzhou, recording data on paper. The data processing team compiled these paper records into JSON format for submission to the IT group. Utilizing AI tools, the IT group created and updated the Suzhou Waterbody Plant Species Map below based on these data.
