History of Suzhou Grand Canal and Ten Scenes

Today we hiked along the southern section of the Suzhou Grand Canal. While enjoying the natural surroundings and did activities about environment protection, we also learned about the history of the Suzhou Grand Canal that we hadn’t known before.

It turns out that the Suzhou Grand Canal didn’t always look the way it does today. We found this video online that provides a detailed explanation of the reasons behind the canal’s rerouting and its history, and we’d like to share it with our friends. Credit to tiktok user:阳面咩咩

In addition, near Baodai Bridge in Suzhou, I came across a guide to the Ten Scenic Spots of the Suzhou Canal. Among them are “Anchoring at Maple Bridge at Night,” “Huqiu Pagoda,” “Pingjiang Ancient Alley,” and “Panmen Water and Land Gate”—all of which are well-known attractions. There are also a few other scenes that I may not have been familiar with before, and I’d like to share them with those who haven’t seen them yet. I hope you’ll all come to love Suzhou and do what you can to contribute to the city.
